Back in Bangkok.

It is with mixed emotions to say the least as its where our journey started nearly 7 months ago! And a lot has happened. We have had the most amazing trip so far made so many friends and even more memories.

This trip to Bangkok started with nearly 24hours on a bus from Cambodia which neither of us enjoyed that much its safe to say. The last 4 hours we were taken off our luxury sleeper bus and crammed into the smallest mini bus you can imagine. We arrived in Bangkok safe and sound if not a little tired and headed to our Hotel. We decided to walk as it was only 900metres so not to bad. Upon arrival it became clear that as Joe had previously hinted at i’d booked the wrong night at the hostel. the receptionist was so rude I then proceeded to cancel our next few nights and decide to find somewhere else. When we told the receptionist this she proceeded to turn off the wifi so we couldn’t book anywhere online. I ordered Joe a beer and walked off to find somewhere to stay. Just around the corner I found a place for about £6 a night with zircon bargain half the price of the place i’d originally booked aswell. The place was interesting I think it might be a brothel but despite a bit of obligatory mould the room was nice. Basic but nice. We settled in and headed out for some food… the best thing about Thailand. Pad Thai.

We bumped into a few people who had been on our bus and had a few drinks with them down the famous Koh San Road, its just as crazy and magnificent as we’d remembered it. We met a cool lady who we dubbed travel mum and listened to a bit of live music before heading home. I had a slight panic as I thought i’d lost a credit card that now contains the majority of our funds. But after a few frantic hours and phone calls to mum I found it in Joes wallet, where I then remembered i’d put it so as not to have every single card in one purse. PHEW.

The next day we chilled in the room watched more Netflix and awaited the arrival of Vicky  (A very good family friend who i’ve not seen in god knows how long) tomorrow. We did treat ourselves to the biggest McDonalds I have ever had in my life. I couldn’t eat it all butd it wasn’t cheap so I think we’ll be sticking to the Pad Thai from here on in.

I’ll let you know how it all goes in a few days and also let you know what our plan for the next 4 weeks are because right now there isn’t one.

Paris X
